Black Chanterelle Black Chanterelle
Craterellus tubaeformis
This mushroom is also known as black trumpet, horn of plenty, and trumpet of the dead.  They are easy to pass up because they blend so well in with the hardwood forest floor where they grow.  It has a very good flavor and mushroom hunters keep a sharp eye for them.
